Abstract

 

Purpose

The Japanese Society of Magnetic Applications in Dentistry, has been conduct continuing a national survey of magnetic attachments in fiscal 2003.

This is a prospective cohort study to investigate the periodontal status of abutment teeth using a magnetic attachment is intended to examine whether any changes in the periodontal tissues over time.

This report on the findings of the Second Report of seven agencies.

(Methods)

Protocol to create a special magnetic attachment were investigated in various conditions of abutment teeth in periodontal pocket change.

 (Results)

The target number of cases could be investigated after 42 cases of which 75 teeth were 70 cases.

Periodontal pocket depth of these abutment teeth was found to deepen with time.
