Abstract
The objective of this study is to develop
a screening device for the swallowing difficulty using magneto-impedance (MI)
sensor. The video fluorography (VF) and the video endoscopic
(VE) are effective to the diagnosis of swallowing difficulty.
The repetitive saliva swallowing test
(RSST) is also one of the effective screening methods. In this study, we
developed the screening device to automate the RSST using a MI sensor. The
device is consisted of the MI sensor and the magnet. The magnet was attached on
the larynx, and the MI sensor was attached on breastbone. The movement of
magnet, which movement of larynx according to swallowing, was detected with the
MI sensor as a change in the magnetic field.
So that we achieve the sensitivity of the
sensor, it measured the larynx
upheaval outskirts and movement of the trace part running out of neck to install
the magnet and the sensor by for the video and
it demanded the sensor output by computer simulation and tried magnetic field distribution in demanding the placement that was most suitable for RSST.
The result of this study shows, it is easy to measure
when slant the magnet with 45 degrees.
