Thank you for your questions.
Was the MP of 2-IOD with magnetic attachment affected by opposing maximally occlusion status?
A.
In this study, there were no significant differences in MP measured by color-changeable chewing gum nor gummy jelly scores when the analysis solely included participants with maxillary dentition. But this result may be due to the small number of samples.
In my clinical experience, maxillary defect condition affects the MP of 2-IOD with magnetic attachment.
2. Was the MP of 2-IOD with MA measured by a gummy jelly improved if flap surgery was done?
A.
In this study, two implants were inserted through a flapless procedure. So, I don’t know MP in case of flap surgery.
In general, flapless surgery is usually less invasive than flap surgery. It causes reduced post-operative pain and swelling, quicker post-operative healing. This may be related to MP of early period. So, in my experience, MP of 2-IOD with magnetic attachment measured by a gummy jelly with flap surgery may not improve at early period.
